This center uses the<a href=\"\/en\/\"https:> Vicon Method<\/a> in their therapies since late 2019, and we conducted an exclusive interview with them to learn about how the Vicon Method has been implemented in their center. Don&#039;t miss it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.When should children go to the speech therapist?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are indicators and symptoms that parents can observe in their children, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-When my son speaks I have a hard time understanding him<br><strong>-He only communicates with signs<\/strong><br>-Only those of us at home understand him.<br>-If you have any problems pronouncing any sound<br>-When he speaks <strong>some sound is skipped<\/strong> or puts another one in place of the corresponding sound.<br>-If you frequently become hoarse<br>-If you breathe through your mouth<br>-If you notice that you have hearing problems<br>-If you have any reading and writing problems<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. What is the treatment like in children?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It works <strong>through play and activities they enjoy<\/strong>, thus we achieve the objectives we propose in the treatment in a more pleasant way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. How can a speech therapist help a child? To what extent can language disorders be treated?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It depends on the problem we are facing, some children with help and work can improve and <strong>to put themselves on the same level as their peers<\/strong>However, there are other children who improve and gradually achieve their goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. In what other neurological diseases can the intervention of a Speech Therapist be essential?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cerebral palsy, rare diseases, ASD, Down syndrome, language delays, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5 How long have you been using the VICON Method in your center?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We started with this method in November 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. How has the implementation of the VICON Method been in your patients?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been very easy, since parents always asked me for tasks to work at home and it is a good <strong>tool to work with them from home<\/strong> And we know that in the morning, at lunch and at dinner we are reinforcing objectives that are worked on in therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7. How receptive have children been to the VICON Method?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#039;s been great, it&#039;s really worth it because the kids don&#039;t realize they&#039;re working, and the parents are delighted because they see they can do something from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8 Could you tell us a little about the results that the VICON Method has offered in your treatment?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results have been very positive, I have seen children who could not even hold attention for 2 minutes and now they sit and<strong> work 20-30 minutes.<\/strong><br>Even children who have not developed oral language repeat words that are in the videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9 How do children react to music therapy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They love it,<strong> There are children who know all the songs<\/strong>, and those who do not yet speak or have not developed oral language, hum and sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11 Have you evaluated the VICON Method in your therapy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#039;m sticking with it because sometimes we get stuck in therapy, and I&#039;ve seen that with this method, in these cases, we overcome this and continue achieving our goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an instrument that, when properly managed with speech therapy, can achieve much more than
