How do we develop language in children with autism_VICON Method?

The most important thing in our Stimulation Program It is to teach skills that allow the child to develop as autonomously as possible. and one of them, and perhaps the main one for generating language, is the ability of Imitation.

To achieve this skill we must have 4 essential processes:

  • MOTIVATION: It is very important that the medium is attractive, that it moves the child towards it, we connect with their emotion, because if there is no emotion there is no learning, so for this we choose Music as the main protagonist.
  • ATTENTION: Once the motivational process is present, we develop attention as an active learning process that initiates information processing. This is an essential process that, with practice, is generalized, strengthened, and becomes automatic.
  • MEMORY: It is very important that memory development is present because it is what will allow us to "generalize learning and make it spontaneous and functional in everyday life." Memory goes from being implicit and recognition (1) (unconscious) to memory to short term (2) becoming a memory of anticipation (3) beginning of learning and that will lead us to memory long term (4) This is when it appears when language begins to emerge and we will reach memory conscious (5).
  • IMITATION: These processes are not independent but develop in parallel to generate the social learning And it is from here that with a good foundation of imitation we will develop communication and language in a solid way.

FIRST THEY LOOK…

THEN THEY LEARN AND IMITATE AND…

FINALLY… THEY SPEAK.
